The course has some of the best fairways you could wish to play from, with the rough, tough enough to punish a wayward shot without losing your ball. The greens are fine and true, together with the 7th hole, which has figured in many a magazine and in the best holes in the North of England, the course is truly a good test of golf for all handicaps. It is well worth taking time to enjoy a coffee prior to playing, or a beer once you have finished.
